Different styles of men's shoes that are available in the market 


There are different styles of men’s shoes to suit the various functions it is meant to serve and also depends on the varied taste of men to wear a shoe to suit the occasion. Basically they are categorized by the way they are closed and Oxford, Bluchers, Monk-straps and Slip-ons are some of them. Oxford type of shoes is also referred to as Balmorals and the vamp has a V shaped slit opening and the laces are attached on either side of it. While Bluchers has two pieces of leather that are independently attached to the vamp unto which the laces are attached and it is commonly referred to as ‘open lacing’. Another variant is the monk-straps which comes with a buckle and strap in place of lacing method and there are the slip-ons which are devoid or lacings or fastenings the foot is just slid into it and is held in place in between the big toe and the second toe.

Such being the basic types there are different styles of men’s shoes that are decorated in various ways. These range from plain-toes, cap-toes and brogues. The plain toe shoes have no additional decorations of the vamp and is sleek in appearance while the cap-toe variant is the most popular of all and as the name suggests there is a layer of leather that covers or ‘caps’ the toes.

However the most the popular of all shoes is the sports shoe which has been greatly adapted for everyday use and the emphasis on the modifications made are more on function than on style. There is a wide range like running, track spikes, golf, cleat, and bowling, climbing, walking, hiking shoes besides a host of other sports related shoes.
